Mud Sun

In 2008, UK BBC Slam Champion MC Dizraeli and Canadian Lit-hop MC Baba Brinkman combined forces as Mud Sun, dropped an EP called “Mine the Gap” filled with danceable and thought-provoking up-tempo hip-hop, and then took the UK festival circuit by storm. Their two-man rap theatre show “The Rebel Cell” was one of the most critically-acclaimed performances on the Fringe.

In the two years since Mud Sun has played multiple festivals, clubs, and theatres in England, Scotland, Ireland, and the Middle East, returning to Glastonbury and Edinburgh twice and touring the length and breadth of the UK with the Rebel Cell.

Baba Brinkman is best known for his award-winning “Rap Canterbury Tales” and his more recent opus “The Rap Guide to Evolution”, sponsored by the British Council to increase public engagement with Darwin’s ideas. Dizraeli is best known as frontman for his band the Small Gods, whose Folk/Hip-hop mayhem has been a major hit around the UK in recent years. Together Baba and Dizraeli combine the best of theatrical spoken word with the best of live b-boy hip-hop, guaranteed to move the crowd.
